BlueJ 2.0.2

BlueJ 2.0.2 がいつのまにかリリースされていたが、ダイアログボックスのメッセージが文字化けするという不具合はあいかわらず直っていなかった。日本語リソースも更新されていないようなので、修正したものを送ってあげてもいいのだけれど、どんなもんなのだろう。ちょっと悩むところだ。

とりあえず、開発元に知らせたら「直すよ」という回答があったので、期待しておこう。

Kodersという面白いツールがあるそうだ。

There’s a new search engine in town. Koders.com is the name, and open source is the game. This new site aims to make open source developers more productive.

ためしにCompiler, Java, ASFで検索したところ、EclipseでJDTを利用している部分のソースコードが一覧にでてきて「おぉ」と思った。利用するときにはライセンスに注意しないといけないが、使えそうなツールだと思ったのでとりあえずブックマークへ登録だ。

Do trademarks require a special license for software to be free? That is the question that Debian developers are currently debating. The specific concern is whether AbiWord’s recent assertion of trademarks conflict with the Debian Free Software Guidelines (DFSG), the set of principles under which the Debian distribution operates. However, the implications could affect not only Debian’s use of other trademarked packages, such as Mozilla, Evolution, and OpenOffice.org, but other GNU/Linux distributions’ use of them as well.

「Debianが商標を持っているという点についてどう考えるのか」は重要だろう。AbiWordも防衛的な意味合いで商標を持ったのかもしれないしなぁ。AbiWordの商標をDebianへ譲渡してDebianが管理するという方式が考えられるけれども、Debianの思想に振り回されるのはいやだとAbiWordが思ったら受け入れられないだろうし。

ちなみに元記事でもちょっと名前がでているけれども、OpenOffice.orgとかMozillaのパッケージってDebianには入っていないんだろうか。同じ扱いにAbiWordもすればいいだけのような気もするけれど、これの影響でMozillaとかが変な風に扱われることが発生したら嫌だなぁ。
