Ubuntu14で電子回路を設計したいときはFritzingが便利です。インストールもリポジトリの登録が必要ですが簡単です。

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ehbello/fritzing
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install fritzing
$ Fritzing

Raspberry Piに接続する回路などをブログで紹介したいときは、これで作図するといいですね！

ボードPCとかArduinoとか持っていると、下記の書籍は参考になるかもしれません。
