concurrentとparallelについて用語の区別がつかないという話題があるのを知りました。

Oxfordの英英辞典によると、concurrent … existing, happening, or done at the same time.で、parallel … side by side and having the same distance contiunuously between them.ということなので、同時に起きることに着目しているか、交わらず継続的にいることに着目しているかの違いということで良さそうです。concurrentはメモリ共有ありでしょうが、parallelはメモリ共有なし（コピーはあり）という気がします。
